Christians often talk about the resurrection as a fact – Jesus rose from the dead. The early Christians did refer to the fact of the resurrection, but most often they emphasised that Jesus was alive, that he lives, thus emphasising his ongoing power and presence. His work continues. We are living in the powerful afterglow of the resurrection.
